Homemade gluten free bread has never been easier to make OR tastier! Skip the over processed store bought bread and make your own!
Homemade Gluten Free Bread
Say goodbye to store bought loaves that lack flavor, texture and healthy ingredients. If you don’t know how easy it is to create a wonderfully fluffy and tasty bread that your family will love, you are in for a treat!
The truth is that most store bought bread is just filled with garbage ingredients and they taste like they have been sitting there getting stale for the last month.
Am I right?
Luckily you do NOT need a bread maker! You don’t need much to make this gluten free bread, but you will need:
How to Make Homemade Gluten Free Bread
In a bowl, mix together the almond milk, honey and yeast. Set aside and allow to bloom for 10 minutes.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, xanthan gum and salt in a separate bowl.
In a mixing bowl, blend together the eggs, oil and white vinegar.
Add in the bloomed yeast mixture and blend until well combined.
Mix in the dry ingredients, and blend on high for 3 minutes.
Spread the dough evenly into a loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray.
Let rise for 20 minutes while you preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Bake the bread for 45 minutes, or until cooked through.
Remove from the loaf pan immediately, do not let it cool in the pan itself. Let cool to room temperature and then slice to serve.
Do I Need a Bread Machine For Homemade Gluten Free Bread
You do not need a bread machine to make this gluten free bread. There are certainly recipes that use a bread machine, but I actually prefer the taste and fluffiness of this recipe that is simply made in the oven.
There are pros and cons to using a bread machine, but you do have to find the right one because the end result can vary so much between different bread machines. That is one reason why I prefer to use the oven!
Gluten Free Bread Variations
This recipe makes a light and fluffy gluten free bread. Now if you are in the mood for the exact opposite, then I suggest you check out this delicious herbed gluten free skillet bread. It is thin, crispy and flavorful.
What to Eat With Homemade Gluten Free Bread
For a classic and comforting option, top your freshly baked homemade gluten free bread with creamy avocado slices and a sprinkle of sea salt. This is a quick and easy breakfast and lunch option that I choose often!
Alternatively, you can slather it with almond butter or your favorite nut spread for a healthy fat and protein packed snack.
If you’re in the mood for something savory, try creating a mouthwatering sandwich with roasted vegetables, hummus, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
For a touch of sweetness, pair your gluten free bread with a homemade jam or a smear of honey.
Why Homemade Bread is Better Than Store Bought Bread
Where do I start? There are so many reasons! First, making homemade gluten free bread allows for complete control over the ingredients used. This is a big deal given all the crap ingredients that we often find in processed foods.
Additionally, homemade bread allows you to experiment with flavors, textures, and variations, allowing for more personalization. Not only that, but it is often more cost effective, especially if you buy the ingredients in bulk.
Finally, the satisfaction and pride that come from creating a delicious loaf of gluten free bread from scratch cannot be underestimated. And your house gets to smell like a bakery for the rest of the day!
